Our Story
Davis Timberworks' founder Byron Davis began his journey into woodworking at around 10 years old when he helped his family with construction projects. In 2012 after completing his service on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, he began freelance woodworking as a side hustle to help subsidize his salary as a police officer. His early projects ranged from crafting cutting boards and live edge tables to building cabinets, and even custom dog kennels.
As his skills in woodworking grew sharper, he noticed the market was becoming saturated with similar products, which led him to seek out something unique that would stand out. One night, while reflecting on his work, inspiration struck—he envisioned an American flag wall shelf with an iron rail, perfect for storing whiskey. He built his first one, and it quickly became a hit.
In 2023, he retired after 15 years of public service to grow his business as a craftsman. Although he continues to create custom wood projects, the American flag wall shelves have become his signature product, embodying the craftsmanship and patriotism that are at the heart of his work.
